Warm Wales is a community interest company working on a 'not for profit' basis to assist local authorities and other housing providers to tackle fuel poverty and achieve the Welsh Housing Quality Standard and community regeneration. Each scheme is designed to meet the needs of the community or county concerned and can include a wide range of free services and advice.
Warm Wales can deliver a scheme which covers all housing tenure within a county or target specific areas of need. Warm Wales schemes already include free energy efficient home insulation, free services to increase household income, training and employment opportunities, increased access to home safety and health promotion advice and equipment, and links with environmental studies in education. Other themes such as recycling initiatives and Communities First activities would fit well with a Warm Wales scheme.
Achievements in Neath Port Talbot and Wrexham to date:
- Over 41,000 House holders have taken part in Warm Wales schemes
- Over 15,000 homes have received FREE loft and cavity wall insulation
- Over £1,049,878 new & additional benefit payments paid to householders
- Over £ 5 million invested in local homes
