Vision and Aims

The primary aim of 'Bringing warm homes to Wrexham' is to reduce the number of people in fuel poverty in the area by applying energy efficiency measures to 80% of the fuel poor homes by Summer 2008.
We will match available sources of funding and help with the needs of eligible households.
We intend to :
- Reduce cold related and cold induced deaths and illness in the County Borough
- Assess the energy efficiency needs of 80% of homes
- Create 25 local jobs - 50% of which will be sustainable for at least 5 years
- Wherever possible, raise home energy efficiency levels to meet the requirements of the Welsh Housing Quality Standard and to maintain levels in public housing about the Standard
- Establish a local Energy Advice Centre in a town centre shop which we hope to share with the local Credit Union
- Increase energy efficiency awareness in the area
- Reduce CO2 emissions
- Lower fuel usage
- Generate additional Benefits claims for qualifying households
- Work with Communities First Schemes
- Offer referrals to a range of local schemes providing service for vulnerable groups such as older people and young children
